4 Ways to Keep Your Motivation To Exercise

It seems like so many people out start out with the best of intentions to get in shape and so quickly those ambitions can fade when you get bored, life gets in the way or you are not seeing results fast enough. How many people do you know who had a New Year’s resolution to exercise and by January 10th they are no longer working out? So what are some ways to keep your motivation to exercise?

1. Finding the right workout for you. What is the right workout for you? The best workout is one that you will put your heart and soul into, one that you will get the most out of and most importantly one that you really enjoy. Working out does not have to be boring or feel like a chore. Try out different things until you find the thing that suits you. If you are bored and not seeing results you might not be doing the right exercise for you. I worked out at a gym for years on the tread mill and eliptical and was less than enthused. You could tell by my results that it was not the right thing for me. I found classes I like now and have lost the weight I needed to lose.
2. Get a good music playlist going. I can’t say enough about having good tunes to listen to while working out. The right music just gets you going and should get your energy pumping. Get together a good playlist for when you are exercising and see if that helps your motivation.
3. Set Goals. Set goals that are realistic and reasonable. Don’t try to do too much too fast. If you want to stay motivated it is better to set attainable goals rather than unrealistic goals. You don’t want to lose motivation because you have set unrealistic goals you did not reach.
4. Keep track of your Progress. I find the more I made progress on losing weight and inches the more motivation I had. The more I wanted to continue exercising and the more I wanted to eat better. To see the progress is motivating and makes you want more.

There are so many different ways to exercise. Everyone will vary on what works for them and keeps them motivated. These 4 things should really help most people find success and stay motivated.

I would add workout in the mornings, before breakfast with the other 4 and don’t forget consistency is the key. Thanks for sharing.
